For Educational Purpose/I Need An Angel

posted on Apr 25, 2007

I am a single dad raising my 14 year old daughter.  I am working only part-time because the company I worked for for the last 10 years downsized and left me unemployed.  In addition, I am a full-time student majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology and Web Development.  I am asking if someone could help me with my school funds so I can continue my education and raise my child in a good school.

It is very hard and I am doing my best that I can possibly do.  However, my daughter goes to private school because I don't like the way the educational system is in Philadelphia.  I am trying to raise money for my next year, so that I can receive my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.  Currently, I have maintained a 3.7 gpa and have made Dean's List 4 semesters straight.  I will pay back the money with interest after graduation.

I am being very honest and wish everyone the best in their future endeavors and for helping me out with anything they can donate to my cause.

The problem here is that you are underemployed yet still trying to send your daughter to private school. First, have you tried securing Stafford loans for your personal education? The interest rates are fairly low. You may also qualify for Pell grants and other government grants. As far as your daughter goes, you may have only one or two options. One, seek out a private student loan to fund her education. Two, do like so many other parents and send her to a charter school versus a public school. I a have attached the link to the charter school page for the state of Pennsylvania. http://www.pd e.state.pa.us/charter_schools/ site/default.asp?g=0 A lot of parent's would like to send their children to private school but because of money can't thus they opt for the charter school system. I wish you and your daughter the best.
